Lycoming County Court Dockets

Lycoming County court records, Pennsylvania, are available through several channels. LycomingCourt.us allows searching for public information about court cases in the county. Additionally, records can be found through official court resources, including the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania (UJS) portal, directly at the Clerk of Courts office, and through public terminals installed in the courthouse in Williamsport.

Lycoming Court System & Jurisdictions

Several judicial instances operate in the county, each handling specific categories of cases.

Court of Common Pleas

This is the county's general jurisdiction court. It is divided into divisions:

  • Criminal Division — felonies, misdemeanors, probation violations
  • Civil Division — civil lawsuits, contract disputes, damage claims, cases with a claim amount over $12,000
  • Family Division — divorces, child custody, alimony, protective orders (PFA)
  • Orphans' Court Division — probate cases, guardianship of incapacitated persons, trust management

Magisterial District Courts

Magisterial courts handle less serious cases. These include traffic violations, minor criminal cases (summary offenses), and civil lawsuits up to $12,000. Preliminary hearings in criminal cases also start here — the magistrate decides if there is enough evidence to transfer the case to the Court of Common Pleas. Several magisterial courts operate in the county, located in various municipalities.

The Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) system is used for checking criminal history at the state level. Information about individuals sentenced to state-level imprisonment can be found through the Inmate Locator of the Department of Corrections. Data about registered sex offenders is available on the Megan's Law portal.

Lycoming Court Calendar & Upcoming Hearings

The Court of Common Pleas schedule is published through the Pennsylvania UJS Web Portal. To find today's, tomorrow's, or weekly scheduled hearings, use the state judicial system portal — it allows filtering by date, case type, and judge's last name.

Alternative ways to find out the schedule:

  1. Call the Clerk of Courts or Prothonotary office and inquire about a specific case
  2. Visit the official Lycoming County website, where announcements are sometimes posted in the Courts section
  3. Check the public terminal in the courthouse — there are current lists of cases for the day available

Magisterial courts maintain their own schedules. To find out the hearing date in a magisterial court, contact the relevant Magisterial District Court directly.
